Pay-Per-Click Marketing
Valerie Covert, May 28, 2008

Pay-per-click (PPC) marketing allows advertisers to only pay a fee when a visitor actually clicks on their ad from a specific keyword on a search results page. Pay-per-click advertising is an opportunity to potentially expand your horizon and attract more people to your website. The higher your website appears in search results for your specific keyword depends on the amount of money you are willing to pay-per-click. Your particular ad would be considered a “sponsored link” or “sponsored ad” and appear on the sidelines of the organic search results to bring more traffic to your website without cost unless it is clicked. Pay-per-click is not only just beneficiary to the advertisement of your website; it seems to be the most convenient way as well. It is a way to help get recognition minus the hassle of paying without guarantee. Overall, pay-per-click is an easy advertising technique that websites should adopt to further add traffic to their website. (read more)

Help Save Windows XP
Hiral Patel, Apr 24 2008
Windows XP will officially be going off the market and shelves on June 30 2008. This has become a major topic across the internet on many blogs and news sites along with an actual petition that has been created by Info World with over 180,000 signatures. What does this mean? This means you will not be able to purchase a copy of Windows XP license for your newly built computer or to replace Windows Vista that comes with your new computer. This also means prices of Windows XP license will increase as the demand increases. Windows XP licenses will always be available just as some of the older operating systems such as Windows 95 or 98 on the internet however these licenses are pulled from non working systems and re-sold.

Consumers are currently buying a license copy of Windows XP and installing it even when the new computer is shipped with Windows Vista. Why? Windows Vista though aesthetically looks good its redundant approach of trying to caution the user on every step has made it a target which Apple Inc. who has also taken advantage of the redundancy by releasing a commercial (view commercial) that ridicules Windows Vista.

Windows Vista for many technical advisors along with Think Geeks proclaim Vista as just another Windows ME something for Microsoft as a ‘Beta Test’ that is released and sold before the official release of the future Operating System. In the Windows ME case the result of the beta test was Windows XP. In the Windows Vista case the result will be the successor Windows 7 due to release in early 2009.

Simple Starter Website
Hiral Patel, Apr 22 2008

A simple starter website can be a start for any small business to create an world wide web presence. By incorporating a website within your business model creates an additional sales channel. Though the online community can be just a fierce and competitive the potentials and gains can be phenomenal. One of the recommendations we make to our clients is to understand a website can be thought of as a mini maturing company as your company grows your website company will endure growth.

A good starter website can set-up potential business a great example is the simple concept website used by Tyler Construction Inc. Tyler Construction is a company that constructs agricultural and commercial buildings, the website concept is simple in the sense it provides the basic information about the company to create the first introduction, simplicity is enhanced by the adoption of images of the projects they have accomplished. Potential customers can now proceed to the next step of inquiring about a specific structure by using the contact form as a means of communication or if a customer wants to find out pricing, Tyler Construction incorporated a simple to use estimate form that is processed in house to provide a quote. Another perspective to look at is the concept of the construction business is the limitation of obtaining qualified employees. Generally a small business has to only a few sources of employment candidates and limited to local community. Tyler Construction took that problem and added a simple employment application, by adding this function they have now added a new broad channel at a cost incomparable to local employment advertising.

By adopting a world wide web presence Tyler Construction has successfully gained a competitive edge. The future development is open for Tyler Construction by adding live Quoting Applications, Video footage of construction projects, Pay-Per-Click Marketing or even an Email Marketing Campaign. Just like this any small business can create innovative ways using the online community to obtain an additional sales channel to the eventual goal of growth towards their small business.

Link and Information Building Small Business
Hiral Patel, Apr 21 2008

Linking and information building is a cruicial element for any small business website. Most small business websites fall short of a great informational website that has a good search engine rank becuase the small business overlooks its local directory for information to provide to the consumer.

Opportunities for creative link building solutions are plentiful. Just solve a user problem. Here's one example in the travel and hospitality industry Innionia.com

Link building opportunities can be discovered by solving a customer's problem. Consider the concierge at luxury hotels. A common service is to make restaurant recommendations and provide directions or a recreational event being held in the area. Small businesses can take this same concept and provide useful user requested information using their website. Though some of the information may not pertain to the small business at hand what the user gains shows trust, care and value in your business.

Joshua Stylman, Apr 15 2008

It's looking more likely every day that the economic downturn we're currently experiencing might turn into a full-blown recession (that is, if we're not in one already). The online advertising industry hasn't been immune to these recession fears – Wall Street's darling Google found that out the hard way.
