TrustDoctor (also called as Trust Doctor) is a misleading program which belongs to the category of rogue anti-spywares. Trust Doctor is a direct clone of other malwares that all hail from the notorious WiniGuard family having fooled thousands of unsuspecting computer users. Program gets on the potential host system through deceptive methods applied including backdoor Trojans or fake video codecs and eventually starts fooling victims around.

One of the examples how Trust Doctor unregistered version gets on board are fake video codecs that are required to install for watching something online. However, instead of this codec users download and install Trojan virus which additionally lets Trust Doctor inside. No matter how it gets on the machine, TrustDoctor begins to run each time the PC is rebooted and shows its exaggerated popup alerts and fabricated system scanners then that mostly read like this:

"Spyware Alert!
Your computer is infected with spyware. It could damage your critical files or expose your private data on the Internet. Click here to register your copy of TrustDoctor and remove spyware threats from your PC."

Though it has no engine for spywares’ detection, TrustDoctor claims to detect a great variety of infections. These “detected” threats are in fact non-existent ones or such that have nothing to do with a PC and its protection. All these misleading scanners, pop-up ads and alerts pursue one and single objective – to make users purchase TrustDoctor’s full commercial version which is promised to remove everything “detected”. It’s worth mentioning that some of these viruses claimed may be quite useful tools and security applications, so don’t get too convinced about this and don’t buy its license. Instead, remove Trust Doctor as soon as possible if it is detected.
